Tamilnadu stands tall as a pioneer for all the States of India, by expanding its breakfast scheme to all the government elementary schools.
Around 17 Lakh students studying in Class 1 to Class 5 will benefit from this scheme. This scheme ensures higher concentration in studies as children would remain hunger free, thereby ensuring a better future for them.
I congratulate Tamilnadu CM Mr. M. K. Stalin for making this possible.
If traditional grains and nutrition enriched grains are procured directly from the farmers for this scheme, the children would benefit from added nutrition. This would also ensure direct benefits for the farmers.
Using traditional grains for this scheme would promulgate the health benefits among the general public & the awareness would increase the use of our traditional grain varieties. I place this as a request to the TN government.
